The right fit

There were lots of beautiful dresses at last nights Academy Awards but what struck  me the most about my favorite two looks was that they were both exquisitely tailored to the actresses that wore them.  Both Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford and Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton looked stunning because the dresses they chose were not only beautiful, they were the right dresses for them. The silouttes were perfect for their body types and the tailoring and fit were flawless.

Consistency is good

Every Fashion Week I think to myself, “I should have a new favorite show.” But then, Jenny Packham gets me everytime. The beautiful sillouettes, belted looks, and perfect mix of bright colors and neutrals give the collection a timeless elegance while still remaining fresh.

This week, I’ll be finishing up the final details of my Spring/Summer ’12 line for Nona E Rose and soon it will be time to start thinking about PhotoShoot/LookBook ideas and layouts! I’ve been collecting a bunch of inspiration on pinterest lately, here are a few of my favorites from BHLDN;

Bright Baubles

Coach recently unveiled its Tony Duquette for Coach collaboration with the late designers estate. Inspired by Duquette’s LA home, books, archives, and person items, The collection pays homage to the designers sense of glamour and pizzazz. Largely inspire by found objects and nature, each piece while containing a certain amount of flash, is very wearable no matter what your style.
