Glamour Guild Goes West! Denver Guide Part 1

I spent this past week  {between a West Coast destination wedding and a Las Vegas Bachlorette Party} in Denver, Colorado.  I think you can usually judge a city by 3 things;

1. Local Flavor; Homemade Ice Cream and summer vacations seem to go hand in hand. We had Ice Cream pretty much everyday (the perfect treat after long hikes in Red Rocks, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Matinou Springs). My favorite of the week was definitely Sweet Action in downtown Denver.

With original homeade flavors like sour cream and chive, chocolate chile, and my personal favorite salted butterscotch  (pictured below!) , a stop at Sweet Action is a must!

2.Neighborhood Reads; I could have spent all afternoon in the Tattered Cover Book store. I think you can tell a lot about the residents of a particular city by what’s carried in their local independent book shop. Judging by the interior of the tattered cover, Denver residents are all about great new and used books, outdoor travel guides, vintage furniture, sprawling staircases and amazing natural light.

3. The Sites; Red Rocks, Rocky Mountain National Park, Garden of the Gods; I’ll let the pictures do the talking……Rocky Mountain National Park

Garden of the Gods

Red Rocks

A couple more tips!

For amazing brunch; Snooze (I highly recommend the pancake flight with blueberry-lemon bar, cinnamon, and pineapple upside down PANCAKES!!)

For great dessert and wine pairings; d bar desserts

Stay tuned for Part II- Vintage Shopping in Manitou Springs!
